Pours a dark brown, almost (not quite) black, with average head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, licorice. Flavor is a very strong roasted-malt (almost like a burnt toast), with some coffee and chocolate, etc., but with the addition of a fairly strong, underlying hop bitterness. This is a very interesting beer.

22oz bomber from Wine and Cheese Place poured into my Chimay Trappist glass. Pours a hazy nut brown with a small bit of off-white head. Aroma of caramel, spicy hops, brown sugar and a little banana. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Caramel, spicy hops and some wheat and banana. Light bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, it’s ok. I’ll enjoy this one but nothing I would buy again.
