We brew beer for the weeknights. Balanced, but still flavorful, that pair well with a meal. But not a Friday night.

Tasty Scotch ale, sweet but not too sweet, peaty but not too peaty, smokey but...you get the point. Caramel and biscuity malts form a solid base, while slight fig and bourbon notes underline an appreciably firm hop bitterness on the finish, the slightest wisp of smoke adding depth to the fade. Not all that pretty, and the aroma comes across subdued, but otherwise a solid beer. Better than my score suggests.

Tap @ Braves All Star Grill, Atlanta. Amber with a small head. It’s a fruity, with a stated pale ale texture. Has a citrus bitterness and a fair nose in this respect.

Draft from the Growler Spot. Light brown and on the light bodied side - rather watery. Mild hops flavor with little evidence of pepper. Inoffensive.

Bottle at the 10th Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. Nearly black in color with a small brown head. Roasty aroma with chocolate, light bits of smoke and barrel. Flavor is ripe with vanilla and barrel sweetness, chocolate, espresso, and roast. Just a little bit of smoke and dry barrel notes.

Hazy gold with a tall white head. Light tropical fruit, lemon citrus aroma. Bitter citrus hops in the front with a tiny peek of sweetness before the bitterness returns for the finish. Another decent MN IPA.
