Description
The legendary Green Man has existed for centuries but it’s no myth that he’s been brewing great beer in Asheville since 1997. As one of North Carolina’s original breweries, Green Man has been producing some of the beer scene’s most iconic ales. Our offerings are consistently recognized for quality as well as loyalty to traditional English styles. Additionally, our brewers strive to bring innovative and exciting new flavors to beer loving folks.

Now open! Continuing our evolution we have constructed a 3 story, 20,000 square ft., packaging hall, a “brewtique”, and an indoor/outdoor top floor taproom that overlooks production and the Blue Ridge Mountains! It is right here on the South Slope, next to “Dirty Jack’s” (which is still open) and our production brewery.

In the can the aromas are not especially fresh resin hops with a little floral and bubblegum. In the glass that goes mainly to resin hops with maybe a hint dank. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, adding in some citrus hops with light sweetness and good carbonation with some bitter. Slightly medicinal in the finish with some alcohol heat. Not bad but not one of green man's best.

Starts with a juicy burst of tropical notes, full of pineapple and mango and a little cantaloupe. Hints of grapefruit, mandarin, and pine lie underneath. Grows increasingly sweet on the back end, though, taking on a corn and grain character, a little too much sugar lingering through the fade. Not bad, but one pint is plenty.

Grapefruit and some tangerine, a light touch of pepper. Pours golden with good head. Good malt backbone. Light bitter finish with some hop tang. Very easy drinking. Can.

Date obscured bottle A: Poured 1/2 of dark tan fast falling foam atop a black brown body. S: Sweet scent of molasses, toffee, coffee and dark chocolate. T: Bitter roasty coffee dominates dry dark chocolate and herbal hops. M: Medium light, clean, dry and lightly powdery with lively carbonation. O: Nothing stands out but no flaws present either. Nice porter.

Really nice, fresh can here. Lots of juicy tangerine with a light candied apple backdrop. Good malt backbone even though bitterness is light. Some green onion here. Orange amber pour with decent head. Tall can.
