About
We opened in 2014 under the name Coda Brewing Company, but decided in early 2016 to make some changes. While change is always a trying and difficult experience, we believe what we are doing now is better than ever… and we’re sticking with Ursula this time. While you’ll still see some of the great award winning American Ales from our Coda days, as Ursula we’re developing a more diverse range of beer including Belgian, German, and historical beers, and doing our hardest work trying to get that beer into the hands of our customers.

Nitro at the brewery - kind of like a watered down version of their oatmeal.stout, with the addition of of a brighter, berry-like fruitiness complimenting the lighter nature of the beer - the nitro and addition of lactose makes this creamier and sweeter - decent, but underwhelming compared to their other offerings.

Black pour with a tan lace - a hearty oatmeal stout, with a ton of earthy smokiness to it - since I love thwt quality in beer, I am totally digging this - medium carbonation - flavors of vanilla bean, coffee, smoke - mild acidity cuts the sweetness - finish has a slight bourbon oakiness to it - nice.

Tap at the brewery - dark brown pour - nose of bittersweet chocolate, light roast, light smoke - creamy texture, light to medium.body - flavor is dry, moderately bitter - bakers chocolate and espresso, light smoke - a little cream.sweetness balances the mild acidity that arrives late - another decent one.

Tap at the brewery - sometimes you just have an IPA that reminds you why the style is so.persistently popular - this is one of those - clean, lean, moderately sweet maltiness that just serves to let the hop profile shine and provide a counter to the bitterness of the hops - hops are perfumey, woody, mildly citric - there is a light garlicky note, perhaps from summit or simcoe, but it is barely perceptible - simple, clean, bitter without being abrasive - reminds me of Uinta Hop Notch (Nosh), which is a good thing.

Tap at the brewery - pours a dark gold with almost no haze - nose is wheat, honey, wildflowers, light pepper - creamy texture, nice froth to it - fairly sweet, with a lot of honey and sweet wheat flavors - dries slightly through the middle, as a pepper character and some melon rind settle in, followed by some tangy, citric character - finish is lightly bitter, with lingering spiciness - hovers somewhere between wit and straight up belgian ale - pretty good.
