Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Mahogany colour, enormous head. There’s plum and metal up front, along with a touch of madira. Grassy and light bodied. Dry with a touch of metal. Finishes with light-medium bitterness. I did not get the hazelnuts, and the clean mouthfeel makes it feel slightly thin.

Bottle, kindly shared by fonefan. An amber, almost clear beer with a minimal beige head. Caramel, roasted malt and some coffee in the aroma. Some chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and a little fruityness in the flavor, leading to a finish with coffee and coffee-like bitterness. Medium body. A quite decent beer, but there’s some citric hints in it suggesting it’s going bad. Good thing we drank it. (080822)

Bottle, thx to fonefan. A slightly hazy yellowish pour with some microfloaties leaves a minimal off-white head on top. Chemical nose with cooked vegetables, pale malt and a citric, dusty sourness. Really horrific. The flavor is at least not offensive, but there’s dust, citrus and sourness there too. Some bitterness too, making the flavor sort of interesting, but I couldn’t drink a lot of it. Medium to thin mouthfeel. Really horrifying. (080822)

Bottle, shared by fonefan. It pours an orange-golden slightly hazy body under a beige head of minimal height. More or less a layer of bubbles. Dusty, slightly citric nose with caramel and toffee. Caramel and some spiced notes in the flavor, along with a slightly funky note. Medium body. Dusty, citric and sour finish with some bitterness. Even though it’s a drinkable beer, there’s evidence of infection in it, which would probably have left it undrinkable in short time. (080822)

Bottle, kindly shared by fonefan. It pours an unclear, next-to golden body with a decent off-white head leaving lacings. Citrus, mango, grapefruit, some pine and peach in the aroma. A bit weak, but quite pleasant. Pale malt, citrus, grapefruit and a touch of pine in the flavor, leading to a finish with citrus, peach and some bitterness. Medium body. There’s some vague hints of the beer not doing well from bottle conditioning, but they are not ruining the beer. Quite quaffable and quenching. (080822)

Bottled. A deep red beer with a slight haze under a huge tan head. The aroma is sweet wtih strong notes of chocolate, and light notes of coffee and an edge of acidity. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate and cocoa beans, as well as a slight acidity - does it stem from the roasted malt or a slight infection? I think the latter. Thanks to fonefan and Brugmansia for sharing.

Bottled. A light golden beer with a huge bubbly white head - due to high carbonation. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of lemongrass, while the falvor is sweet with notes of both straw and lemongrass. The body is thin. Thanks to fonefan and Brugmansia for sharing.

Bottle, shared by fonefan. It pours a beautiful ruby-brown body, unclear, with a nice, lasting beige head. Roasted malt, dried fruits and, unfortunately, a little sourness and dusty impression. It has a medium full body, with flavors of roasted malt, coffee, some citric sourness and a coffee-like bitterness. The finish is coffee-bitter too, and also has a fruity hoppyness. A quite nice one. I’m not surprised by sourness in an old ale, but the sourness found here is the kind you find in a beer going bad. Fortunately, it wasn’t running the show. ( 080822)

Bottle, shared by fonefan. A hazy, orange beer with a small beige head. Dusty, citrusy aroma, but with enough malt and hops to save it from being totally off. Some citrusy-sour flavors, with fruity hops and bitterness doing the rest of the job. Malty flavors almost completely hidden by the others. Medium body. Fruity and bitter finish. Sure, it’s a drinkable and quite refreshing beer, but very boring and not very IPA-ish. (080822)

Bottle, thx to fonefan for sharing. It pours a pale, yellowish body with a nice, white head. Citrusy, dusty and sour aroma with a spicy touch. Spiced start on the flavor, before the dusty, citrusy and sour flavors take control. Some bitterness growing stronger towards the very end. Still, not anywhere near saving the impression of this beer which surely had gone bad. Medium to thin in the mouth. It’s a pity it was gone bad, as there were some intersting flavors in it. (080822)
