16 ounce can. Pours an amber orange color. Moderate foamy beige head. Big citrusy pine needle nose. Flavor offers more pine and citrus, but not overdone. Bittersweet toasted malt and grapefruit peel. Smooth as IPA’s go. Nice alternative to the standard fare around town in the Big Easy.

On tap at a restaurant. Aroma is that of a classic pale ale. Moderate malt notes with cracker and some caramel. Moderate hop notes with resin, pine and grapefruit. Pours a hazy, copper color with a medium sized, moderately thick light tan head that recedes to a thin film that lingers. Medium lacing and no legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness with a dry finish. Medium to medium high bitterness. Some light cracker malt notes with a bit more caramel and hints of toasted bread. Moderate hop notes with grapefruit and pine. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright pale ale but nothing special. It reminds me a lot of the older style of pale ale similar to Sierra Nevada.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. There’s a bit of citrus in the nose, light coffee, pale bread. Light to medium sweet flavour with more bread, light bitter hay and pine, subdued coffee aspect, tangerine, light yeast expression. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly sweet on the finish, with some further bready notes, citrus, coffee impressions. Good coffee integration here. Nice novelty saison.

A hazed golden amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with loads of Brett, ground cherries, funk, Orval beauty, very nice. In mouth, a nice tart sweet fruity malt with light green apples, Brett, light lactic notes and cork, very smooth and complex. Bottle actually leaked 3/4 content in my suitcase on the plane... Probably a ill fitting cap... Still a beautiful sour ale.
