Draught @ Turtle Bay. Hazy amber. Lightly beech smoky on the palate balanced with caramelly malts. Ok.

Malty with slight apple note and a bit of sweetness late. Fuller bodied that I was expected, but not bad.

Draught, Avenue Pub. Light chestnut colour. Light body and gentle maltiness. Not bad. There isn’t much complexity but it drinks easy and is probably better if you think of it as a mild.

Very dark brown. Lightly chocolatey "Irish stout" aroma. Light chocolate character in an Irish stout body that nevertheless carries some stronger alcohols, light fruits and does at time cross into strong/foreign stout territory. Fun brew, I sought it out on my trip to NOLA.

Draft. Amber and hazy. Earthy, slightly caramelly nose. Earthy hops, moderate bitterness and good balance. Was a go-to beer for me on my visit to NOLA.

Growler thanks to Mora2000. Pours with a hazed orange hued body and a thick, bone hued white head that lasts. Some small particles floating around. Aromas of citrus, pine, light tropical fruit, a hint of alcohol and a clean, bready 2 row. A bit of tangerine. Flavors are citrusy, tangerine, pomelo. A bit husky/nutty on the grain side of things. Some grassy hop presence. Medium carbonation, dry and a bit thin.

6 dollar draft at the Howlin Wolf, New Orleans. Filtered dull orange-tan. Clovy orange banana aroma. Id guess this is an American Wheat. Mild and doughy, with some classic wheat tones, maybe a hint of creamsicle. The aroma is a little chemical soapy, minty. Somewhere between a German and US Wheat, a little buttery. Score seems generous.

6 dollar pint in New Orleans. Orange-tan, filtered. Creamy orange dought flavor, mild buttery undertones. Not really Bohemian or World Class, but sessionable enough. No glaring off flavors. Has some mild Lager tones, pretty smooth. Underwhelming, questionable Ale.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 11 Aug 2011) Hazy amber colour with rocky, off-white head. Malty, spicy nose with grass, hay, herbs and slightly earthy hops. Fruity, slightly tart taste with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, grass and a generous, spicy bitterness in the finish. Dry, refreshing and slightly tart. More than medium body. Didn’t really expect that from Louisiana, but this is quite an excellent little saison. Very nice.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 11 Aug 2011) Hazy golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, spicy, herbal nose with citrus, ginger and basil. Fruity, herbal taste with notes of citrus, slightly soapy wheat, basil, ginger and a mild, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, fairly sweet. Quite weird with lots of character from the basil (but it took me a while to realise what it was). Interesting and drinkable.
