on tap at BWW Bossier City, pours brown with a medium tan head, minimal lacing. Nose is coffee and cocoa, very robust and roasty. Flavor is amazingly rich for the low abv, in the realm of Maduro, lots of light cocoa and roasted coffee ending with a thin layer of spice and earthen hops. I could drink this stuff all day long.

On tap at Fruit in the Room at Cigar City Brewing. Pours gold with faint pink hues and loose off white head. The aroma is big rich bold sweet ripe watermelon, firm earthiness, smooth pleasing herbal notes and followed by some roasted malts and billowing sweet perfumy floral hop notes. The taste is smooth sweet watermelon, smoother herbs, a touch of spice, nice thick earthiness and a bit of malts. The mildly roasted malts and earthiness seem to combine to create a wonderful black tea note that really enhances the experience.

Draft Sampled at Bonnaroo - the LAST place on earth I would have expected to pick up a rating! Pours clear gold with a minimal white head. Sweet honey floral aroma. The flavor follows the aroma pretty much. A pleasurable beer, but not quite what I expect from a Saison. Too sweet and one dimensional and no funk or farmhouse anywhere. Otherwise a good middle of the road beer that I’m sure will have it’s place bringing people deeper into beer appreciation and especially for some styles that they may otherwise never try.

draft at Bulldog Pub, New Orleans. pours golden, white head. aroma is grassy, yeasty with hops bitterness. taste, hoppy, almost overly malty for a golden ale. yeasty with a med-high carbonation, profile is too malty and finish with some lingering bitter citrus hops.

draft at Bulldog Pub, New Orleans. pours copper/brown, beige head. aroma and taste, dark malts, light roast with caramel. Found it to be rather basic, with some hints of pilsener malts, some malts and the caramel in the finish. Faint touch of bready mouthfeel. One dimensional but refreshing.
