Clear amber/copper coloured body with a nice off-white head. Aroma of light hops, sweet caramel & malt, all with plentiful alcohol. Medium-bodied; Malty initial taste with nuts and cardboard. Then showing some pale hop flavour with an odd-seccond runnings taste (ala Anchor Small Beer). Aftertaste clean & malty - no hops at all. Overall, a decent brewpub beer - not great, but after some more work, it will be much better. Thanks to my brother-in-law Andy for letting me try this! I sampled this beer poured from a growler filled at Capitol City Brewing Company in Shirlington (Arlington), Virginia on 28-February-2005.

Super dark brown colour with a thin light brown head. Sweet aroma of chocolate, coffee, plentiful sugars and roasted malt. Medium-bodied; Roasty flavours favouring sweet malt and some bittering qualities. Aftertaste shows the coffee and dark chocolate flavours while still having sweet characteristics. Overall, a nice beer-sweet and still roasty-well done and a good one to try this season! I had this from a growler purchased from the location in Shirlington (Arlington), Virginia by my sister's fiance. I tasted this on 30-November-2003.

Orange colour-very clear with a thin dense white head. Aroma from hops-floral and citrusey-not too potent with some off-aromas. Medium-bodied; Spicey potent hop character and actually fairly balanced with malt. Aftertaste bittered from the hops-not overly so, however! Overall, a definately good APA representation, worth trying! I got this growler courtesy of my sister's fiance and sampled it on 28-November-2003.

Copper colour with a thin off-white head. No visible bubles/carbonation. Aroma of blueberries, yeast, coriander seed, curacao and wheat. Medium-bodied; Sweet initial flavour with coriander seed most prevalent. Aftertaste shows some sweetness, but mostly yeastie/witbier qualities. Overall, an actually good representation of the style-lacking only the complexities of a true belgie, but definately respectable from the Americans! I was really lucky to try this one! My sisters fiance provided me with a growler straight from the brewery at the Shirlington (Arlington), Virginia location from which I sampled it on 28-November-2003.
