Tastes like straight spirit hound, normally I like boozy but not spirit hound I guess, cute can though!

16oz can pours out amber topped with a sand head. Nose is nice sweet caramel pitfruit malts and some bourbon barrel notes. Taste is more of the nice sweet caramel pitfruit combo and a woody bourbon barrel kick.

Can. Clear Copper color with a medium sized white head that has fair retention. The aroma is medium in strength with caramel, grains and some sawdust. The taste is mild grains, caramel, a spicy herbal hop bitterness and something a bit metallic. The palate is full and creamy with soft carbonation. Finishes short and dry. Overall: Decent. Rather nice marzen, nothing objectionable, but also mothing really special or unique either.

This pint can was found in the significant imperial stout selection at Coaltrain Wine & Liquor in Colorado Springs in early June. From the fine print at the bottom of the can, it appears the brewer made a significant effort with the barrels. Good by me. I have a snifter out for this tasting, ready for the pour. Sure enough the beer arrives a dark brown with amber highlights followed by a wispy skim of light tan foam. The smell is certainly boozy but it seems different, along with wood and chocolate. And the taste is also not quite the norm but still good. Chocolate, grain, malt, whiskey, syrup, a surprising red cherry presence and a definite alcohol effect. Slightly sweet, the same with bitterness and a bit thinner than I expected. Interesting brew.

Pint can. Cloudy yellow pour with a bid foamy white head that has fair retention. The aroma is big and bold with fresh grapefruit, lemon and a trace of sawdust. The taste, like the aroma, featured grapefruit in the forefront, with a bit of guava filling in the sides. The palate is full and smooth. Finished somewhat short. Overall: Decent IPL.
Unfortunately not for me. Coffee bitterness with the harsh BA flavor. A nice sipper perhaps
