22oz bomber, picked up at Brix, pours with a clear deep gold body that supports a tall light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up lightly dusty citrus hops that are sort of grapefruit, tangelo and just a bit lime like at times. Around the edges of the modest fruity hoppiness is a thin ring of floral hops. The taste starts firmly citrus with grapefruit rolling into tangerine while the hop bitterness grows and grows to a modest level by about midway. There is a pleasing yet light degree of sweet malts that mingle with the hops into the finish. Solid Pale albeit, per the style, the malts don’t seem quite right, but no biggie.

Vestjysk Vinter Vanvid januar 2014. (as wheat lager, which is a good name for such a character-less wheat beer). Hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, grain and sulpur. Sweetish yeasty and fruity flavour with quite a bit of sulphur.

Bottle. An almost clear one, golden in color and topped by a white head. The aroma has pale malts and a light citrusy, fruity touch. The flavor too is pretty weak, some pale malts, some fruityness and a faint bitterness. No cloves, banana or bubblegum detected. Medium body, low on carbonation for a weizen. Short mostly fruity finish. Overall, not true to style at all, but at least it’s quenching and not flawed. 140118
