Can. Pours a dark amber with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is smoke and roast. Thin mouthfeel with roasted malt and light smoke finish, decent.

16 oz can from a four pack bought in Thompson Falls, MT. Canned a month and a half ago. Pours filtered copper with a large off-white head with great retention and lace. Aroma is pretty lackluster with vague caramel malt, chalk. Taste is kind of dull as well--medium bitterness, kind of sweet. Like the pale ale, no real hop character other than the bitterness. Not bad, but it’s boring.

Tallboy can from a gas station in Thompson Falls, MT. Canned a little over two months ago. Aroma is chalky candy, floral, grain. Pours filtered copper with a large off-white head with good retention and nice lacework. Taste is medium-level bitter, a tad over the hill maybe, slight pine, slight caramel. Really basic and the hops aren’t providing much character beyond the bitterness, but it’s not bad. I’m sure it’s better when it’s fresh.

Pours a dark brown from a can, little nose to it. Flavor is classic caramell-y roasted malts, with a smoky coffee note on the end. Okay beer.

Draft at the source. Brown color, small tan head. Nice aroma of vanilla, cocoa, butterscotch. Taste has smooth cocoa, coffee, licorice. Light body. Just enough barrel, so the beer itself shines through nicely. Very tasty.
