Growler from the Beer Growler in Johns Creek. Pours a dark, muddy brown, with a big, frothy, beige head. Chocolate and toffee malts, anise, black bread, pine sap, and tangerines. Chalky, bready malts, and a significant bitterness. Medium body, chalky, grainy, and a little syrupy. Unpleasant, bitter aftertaste. Overall, this is a fairly well made IBA, with some nice malty notes, and a mellow bitterness.

Bottle thanks to Erik. Pours clear orange with a medium beige head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving decent lacing. Very light aroma hard to detect at all. Notes of pine, citrus, caramel, cardboard. Flavor follows, quite malty - bread caramel sweetness, with pine bitterness. Medium sweet, medium bitter, a bit harsh on the finish, but not bad. Medium body. This feels like it has been around a while, but there is no date on the bottle, thus no way to know.

Sample from a cask at ACAT 2014. Pours a muddy brown, with a thin, beige head. Aromas of caramel, ripe apples, and resinous hops. The fruit roll ups are noticeable, if you are trying to find them. Very bitter, with some malty and candy sweetness. Medium body, sticky, and pretty astringent. Overall, this is a bold, bitter, and flavorful beer.
