650mL bottle - pours black with a tan head. Flavour of maple syrup and roasted malt. A little thin for a stout, but still enjoyable.

650mL bottle - pours almost pure black with an off-white head. Blackberries are dominant. Smooth porter with a dry finish, but a little thin. Good porter, nonetheless.

Nice orange coloured body with a dense one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of malt, alcohol, apricots, yeast and a bit of hops - not as much as I’d expect from the style though. Medium-bodied; Malty taste up front with metal and alcohol dominating then followed up by an astringent hoppiness and a very mild fruit finish. Aftertaste shows more hop bitterness and a tangy metallic flavour on the palate. Overall, a decent IPA - not enough character throughout, only fringe tastes near the beginning and end make this a somewhat forgettable beer. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Sherbrooke Liquors in Edmonton, Alberta sampled at home in the states (Washington DC) the day before leaving to go back to Canada to pick up some more beer on 08-October-2009.

Bottled at pre-RBJG festivities in Kyoto. Lightly hazy pale amber, sall but firm head. Peachy hop aroma. weet and medium bodied with soapy, crystallic mouthfeel. Fruity peaches creates insufficent lacquer to cover the mediocre malt. A sketchy. rather tame IPA.

Bottle thanks to TimE. Light golden-copper color. Citrus, piney hops with warm malt in the nose. Flavor is dominated by peppery, piney hops, citrus as well, with light caramel malt and a hoppy finish. Malt is a bit too understated, though overall decent and easy-drinking.

2011-09-16, bottle from Point Grey, Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Hazy amber color. Hoppy and footy aroma. Cood caramel flavor; the hopping is a bit vegetable, but the bitterness is strong. Unfresh.

Beautiful gold-amber color; medium sized creamy head. Aroma of malt, dust, dirty water, grass. The toffee flavor is ok, some malt; the mouthfeel is on the dry side, also because of the strong bitterness; but there are no really hop qualities. Not as good as the one I had in the past..

It has a light amber color, and a big rocky head. Very nice hop aroma, malt flavor, partially sweet, strong caramel flavor and strong bitterness. The hopping is excellent, resiny. The final too is balanced and long. One of the best beers in BC so far during my trip.

2008-07-17, draught at The Alibi Room, Vancouver, as Indian Head IPA, 7-3-7-4-14=35
Hazy blond color. It has a nice hop aroma, but that fades out quickly. Not much malt flavor, but for sure a strong bitterness, with quite good hop oils. Pleasant.

This ale pours a dark orange colour with a white frothy head. To the nose there is a light musty scent to this one. Along with a slight egg smell. Not too good off the start. You can kind of get a little hop and maybe some ripe fruit. First taste is very flavourful witha strong flavour of caramel. Some floral hop flavours. Hoppiness lasts with a slight bitter palate.

Bottle courtesy of CBA: Poured a dark black color porter with a nice foamy head with some good retention. Aroma of sweet berry is somewhat dominating with some light roasted malt notes also noticeable. Taste is a nice balance between semi-sweet berries and some light dry roasted malt notes. Body is a bit light with some better then average carbonation. I have to admit to being pleasantly surprised by that one since I usually don’t like fruit and porter to be mixed together.
