Cask (backlog). Reddish brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is toast, toffee, ripe fruits, berries and chocolate. Flavour is chocolate, wood, toffee and some mild toasted notes to it as well.

Bottle at jeevan’s, thanks to a holidaying friend. Pours clear pale gold with a thin white head. Aromas of slightly sweaty hops, saline. Taste is light lemon barley water. Thin finish.

Cask a the Lych Gate Tavern, Wolverhampton. Mid-brown with a creamy head and lots of lacing. Malt, toast, acorn scent. Touch of astringency. Sweet berry/nut taste turns to an angular sour-bitter at the end of the sip. Medium to long bitter-astringent finish. Not my cup of tea sadly.

[ As Goddards Wight Squirrel ].Clear medium amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, nutty, light toasted - roasted, fruity notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, toasted, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140813]

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. A pale chestnut colour with a tight white head; earthy malt aroma; nutty taste, gently bitter; and a caramel finish. A pelasant bitter.

Bottle shared on the old train on the Isle of Wight. Pours clear amber-gold with a white cream topping. The nose has some simple notes of caramel and toffee. Medium sweet flavor with mild butterscotch, bread, faint yeast, dough, caramel. Low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Sweet finish with more doughy malts and bread, ripe fruits, mellow alcohol warmth. A very decent Belgian ale.
