Description
Weโ€™re the oldest brewery on the Isle of Wight and one of the first independent craft beer producers in the UK. Goddards has been brewing fine real ales in the beautiful surroundings of Barnsley Farm since 1993.

In 2025 Goddard's became a Powder Monkey Group Company.

Cask at Angleterre, Helsinki. Colour is dark brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Dark fruits, roasted malts and bitterness.

50cl bottle from Waitrose, Andover. Brilliant straw in colour with a loose white head; aromatic aroma, with traces aof nettles and fresh mown hay; rather thin and woody in the mouth to start, but quickly developing a strong leafy bitterness with a toudh of honey for sweetness. Clean and refreshing.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges. Dried fruit, roasted malt and a hint of cocoa in the aroma. Fruity taste with notes of spicy malt, dried fruit and nuts.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 07/09/12. Light amber brown with a thinnish off-white head which soon clears to the edge. Floral nose, slightly perfumed, Frys Turkish Delight! Orange and citrus in taste, biscuit and sweet malts. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. An adequate drop!

Cask (William Coppin JDW, Newport, Isle of Wight) - Golden in colour. Tea, lemon and malt in the aroma. Fairly refreshing taste with lemon and tea standing out. A little thin, but perfectly drinkable.

Cask (Broadway Inn, Totland Bay, Isle of Wight) - Dark brown in colour. Fruitcake, chestnuts and malt in the aroma. Fairly fruity taste with notes of raisins, dates, nuts and marzipan detected.

(Cask at Kittys, 20120831) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was bubbly, small and white. Aroma had malts, toffee and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramell, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. A decent but bit harsh beer.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Almost clear gold beer, suddy white head. Light dry palate. Dry citrus and marmalade. Dry finish. Over dry.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Clear amber - gold beer, suddy white head. Palate is light and dry. Good orange citrus backed by honey toned malt. Semi dry finish. Mild bitterness.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 20/05/2012. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Cereal malt notes, with some fruity sweetness and hedgerow hops, leading to a moderately bitter finish. Fine.
