We’re the oldest brewery on the Isle of Wight and one of the first independent craft beer producers in the UK. Goddards has been brewing fine real ales in the beautiful surroundings of Barnsley Farm since 1993.

In 2025 Goddard's became a Powder Monkey Group Company.

Bottled. A golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of citrusy fruits and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, citrus fruits, and elderflowers, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

50cl bottle bought in Hartney Whitney. Amber with a faint ring of white head; aroma of apricots and honey; oily textrure with fruity malt flavours; the finish is dry, with a soft undertone of English hops. A sound but unexciting bitter.

50cl bottle bought in Hartney Wintney. Copper coloured with a trace of white head; light hoppy aroma; soft with a rich caramel malt flavour and some clean hops to finish. A pleasant, well-made, bitter.

Den första ölen jag drack på Hawkley Inn hösten -09. Då tyckte jag den kändes humlad med amerikansk humle. Senare insåg jag att välhumlade engelska öl med speciellt fuggles får fin humlekaraktär. Inte lika bra på flaska. Mörkare och nötigare än de andra från Goddards.

Goddards standard ale. Ett bra hantverk men inget som stack ut. Typisk engelsk EKG karaktär.

Jag lärde mig att gilla Fuggles under tiden på L’Abri. Den bör väl kombineras med någon annan humle för att inte bli endimensionell. Jag provade denna både på fat och flaska. Fatversionen var som vanligt bättre. Här kom kroppen och lenheten i malten fram och humlen gav den där extra touchen. Finfin.

Cask gravity at The Bell Inn, Ivychurch, Kent. Not had a good track record with this brewery, but this was ok. Pale gold, thick white head. Slight haze. Cracking condition. Slight egg on the aroma, yeast. A very light beer. OK citrusy hop finish
