bottle - This brew smells mainly of resinous hops. It tastes of resinous and herbal hops and big, syrupy malt. It’s the latter that’s the problem. The syrupy blend of malts and resinous hops combine to make something that tastes far too much like cough syrup. I love half cycle IPA, but while still decently drinkable, it’s "pissed off viking cousin" is flawed, IMO.

Draft. Musty funky light berry. lemon peel, and malt aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with small head. Sweet-tart raspberry, lemon malt and lemon peel flavor. Decent body. Good.

Draft. Light tart cucumber and lemon malt aroma. Golden yellow with minimal head. Sweet-tart cucumber and lemon malt flavor. Not like a pickle but pretty good.

Draft. Tart strawberry malt and light rum aroma. Cloudy red amber with small head. Light sweet-tart strawberry and malt flavor. Light rum finish. Pretty good.

Draft. Creamy banana, orange, caramel malt and straw aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Sweet creamy banana, caramel malt, and moderately bitter herbal quinine flavor. Okay body. On the rough side.

Draft. Vanilla, light bourbon, and chocolate malt aroma. Brown with small head. Sweet vanilla, chocolate malt and very mildly bitter herb/wood ash flavor. Very nice.

BA version at Black Swan. Very dark maroon briwn color, bright beige head. Aroma of vanilla, roast. Taste is more bourbon than beer. Light body. Boozy.
