Bottle, 6 months old. Aged for 1000 days before bottling. Deep dark gold with a fine, sturdy, low head. Aroma of honey, fruits, like a well-aged tripel. Oxidized, mellow, fruity flavor with lots of honey, bread, citrus, present alcohol, pears, and herbs. Some grassy hops as well as a nice lingering bitterness. Basically tastes like the aged triples from Belgium I have had. Nice, though I would have liked to try it fresh, as most triples are better fresh. Very authentic Belgian yeast character.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Deep gold, very cloudy with a low, lacy head. Fragrant, estery aroma with banana, spices (cloves and coriander) rich malts, bread. Bready flavor, somewhat creamy, with banana, clove, light citrus. Belgian yeast but the esters also seem a bit Bavarian. Slight hops at the finish. Complex and clean. Restrained in its additives. Very nice at first, though it became less interesting over time, getting a bit watery and dull. Drink it well chilled and quickly.

Tap at Barley. Hopped with Northern Brewer. Deep dark gold with lace. Belgian yeast aroma: grapes, grains including rice, banana ro melon. Huge fruity flavor, peaches, prea, almost tropical. Good bitter finish. Extremely thick and rich, maybe too much? A bit too sweet and thick, but lovely, with amazing fruit flavors. Great.

Not sure why it was called an Abbey, but it could be the yeast. Lacking esters, very little banana or cloves anywhere. Body was a bit unbalanced. Not bad, but the beer is simply light and refreshing without complexity. I can get the same thing with more hops from a Japanese macro lager for a lot less. I missed the point of this beer.

Bottle. Smokey, woody aroma with coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Medium roasting, quite complex. Pitch black with a lovely, fine, tan head. Very creamy, rich flavor, medium roasting, rather sweet, with cream, chocolate, café au lait, caramel. Very rich and well balanced. Thick, rich mouth as well. One of the best light stouts I have had lately.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Rich malt aroma, slightly fruity with ok noble hopping. Very Bohemian nose. Slightly dark golden color, clear, with a big frothy head. Nice malty flavor, slight fruit and butter, medium hopping. Decent malt depth. Rich enough, yet quite light. Good pilsner, though could use a bit more hopping.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Caramel-malt aroma, slightly fruity and earthy, with relatively fragrant underlying citrus hops and yes, a bit of smoke. Medium copper color with a rather high head. Well balanced flavor with earthy amber malts, caramel, chocolate, and citrus hops. Hoppy, peppery, smokey finish is quite dry and clean. Great balance, really well made, if not particularly exciting. Could drink lots of it.
