Description
Birbant is one of the pioneers of Polish craft brewing - bold, independent, and driven by creativity. We don’t follow the noise - we brew what truly matters.
Birbant (pronounced ‘beer-bunt’; Polish for ‘bon vivant’) contract brewery was established in 2013 by Jarek and Krzysiek (a.k.a. Kuli), two brewers and beer enthusiasts. Jarek is a professional brewer, who’s worked with several different breweries, while Kuli started brewing at home in 2003 and in the ten years before Birbant many of his home batches earned him awards at homebrew competitions. In their own words: “We have worked together on new recipes for a few years now. Our goal is to make flavorful and exceptionally aromatic beers we would like to drink ourselves.”

Znakomite Imperial IPA, z genialnym aromatem, konkretne, godne polecenia.

Pours black with head instantly disappearing. The carbonation is too high, in the aroma some delicate dark malts and hint of nice alcohol which may be from the wooden chips soaked in jack daniels, some rudiments of something that might be a clone syrup. In taste its dry and pretty bitter, high level of burnt malts and absolutely no clone syrup. FES with clone syrup and wooden chips was a great idea, I expected pretty complex FES but this beer is unfortunately dry, with not exactly hidden alcohol level and no signs of clone syrup. Maybe it should have been fermented to 7 or 7,5abv instead of 8 for fuller mouth-feel and more sweet-like taste, for now its pretty dry. Maybe may critical review is based on high expectations that I had from the deScription of this beer.
