(Bottle 75 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with an almost absent, off-white head. Sweetish, lightly caramelish aroma. Fairly full body with sweetish, lightly caramelish malts. Subdued bitterness. I don’t really pick up the chestnuts, but this is drinkable stuff indeed. Courtesy of Ungstrup. 220207

Bottled. An amber beer with some gunk floating around under a lazing light orange head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of alcohol, medium notes of caramel, and light notes of lemon. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, caramel, and alcohol. The alcohol leaves a warming sensation. I find it a bit too simple and raw.

Red-amber beer with small transparant head. Toffee, caramel, plywood, and a few phenols in the nose. Leafy, shrubbery flavours, sweet and full bodied, obviously influenced by the chestnuts. Slick, nearly viscous, warming sensations. Good strong ale, chestnuts help without imposing themselves; a bit pity about the nose.

Muddy orange color; creamy head. Puke and plastic aroma. Dry mouthfeel, some sweetness, light malt flavor, very light bitter oranges. Useless.

Cloudy copper color. Quite smooth, but there is no honey, no malt flavor, no hop aroma, and the yeast is nothing special; medium-high bitterness at the end. I can homebrew something better. I’m disappointed.

Cloudy brown color, better head than the Melissa. The aroma shows some malt and a very light fruitness and hop. Medium body structure, with enough malt flavor; the chestnut flavor is subtle but clear, adding some complexity. A quite good Ale.

[Bottled] Hazy amber, rich lively head. Fruity citric nose. Bready with notes of butterscotch and nuts. Medium sweet, very malty and somewhat syrupy. Dominated by a rye bread flavour that I believe is derived from the chestnuts. Just some late bitterness. Interesting!

[Bottled] Hazy golden, rich head. Sweet and fruity with evident notes of honey. Medium bodied with lively, fairly soft mouthfeel.Low bitterness. I’ve never quite got the point with honey ales, but this one is well crafted, even if it is not the most exciting beer ever.
