Founded in 1998, the St Rieul brewery was born out of a passion for specialty beers. The desire to work independently on an artisanal production that has completely disappeared in our department motivated us for this project.

Skyview Tasting, 2/23/13. Purchased in Paris, October 2011. Very dark brown color. Malt and grain aroma. Roasted grain in the flavor with light sweetness. This beer does have good palate, and for a brown ale, it has a lot of flavor.

Purchased at La Cave a Bulles in Paris, FR; enjoyed in my hotel room at Hotel Bradford in Paris, FR getting ready for the long trip home. Appearance is a dark, murky cola brown with a rich bubbly head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of dark fruit, prunes, a touch of spice as well, smell is pretty potent and sweet. Taste is quite potent but enjoyable, rich in dark fruit and spice with a sweet profile. It’s decent stuff, not the greatest for the style by any means, but decent.

A beautiful reddish brown ale with a thick frothy brown head. In aroma, sweet dark fruits, molasses and light licorice, a bit musty. In mouth, sweet grassy malt with light dark fruits, watery and herbal, so-so.

On tap at la fine mousse in Paris. Pours a dark amber with a collapsing white head leaving no lacing. Light fruity aroma. Kind of a cross between a tripel and a Belgian ale. Nice.
