Description
Founded in 1998, the St Rieul brewery was born out of a passion for specialty beers. The desire to work independently on an artisanal production that has completely disappeared in our department motivated us for this project.

Cloudy blond color, no head. Strange aroma, lightly spicy, with citrus fruits, like a flu remedy. Round mouthfeel, very light wheat touch and spices, sweeter than the average; easy to drink, but not for this good.

Black color, with a giant head, not very thick, and that reduces quickly. It has a mild aroma, with delicate caramel and roasted malt, and the effects of the high carbonation too. Medium mouthfeel, disturbed by the still too high carbonation; it has a very ordinary flavor of caramel, dark chocolate and a touch of roasted malt; there is a light residual sweetness and low bitterness (just some from the roasted malt). The final is a bit too thin, and surprisingly the alcohol warms the mouth.

Cloudy amber color; the big head, frothy, disappears quickly and almost completely; the persistent perlage maintains some islands on the surface. It has a medium aroma, Belgian, lightly woody and fruity, even with very light ammonia. It has a medium mouthfeel, with some residual sweetness, light malt flavor and some disappointing vegetables touch (pea soup, carrots…); overall the flavor is not bad, but quite boring. In the final the high level of carbonation is still pricking the tongue; the alcohol starts warming the mouth; it has an ordinary bitterness. A Strong Ale below average.

Hazy to cloudy blond color; scarce head retention. Nice aroma, very French, with some old hop, some coriander, light yeast, maybe lemon peel. Dryish and quite weak mouthfeel, some malt, light vegetables touch, some saccharin at the end. Not very interesting.

Black beer with a huge dark yellow-brown head, receding fast. Nice stout, smoked notes, walnutpeel. Very smoked taste, tobacco, ash flavours, roasted malts, and just a little touch of hops. Burnt raisins (as on a bread) and blueberries. Medium bodied, but nowhere slick or oily. This is a great "Brune" in the best French tradition. Danke vielmals, Sebastian
