Bottle, 11%. Aniseed and honey aroma. Clear yellow colour. Sweet honey flavour, does not taste as much of aniseed as it smells. Burns a bit at the back of the throat.

bottle at Fort Wayne tasting - Pours golden and smells like a bottle of honey with a touch of flowers. When it says "sweet mead", it definitely means it. This mead is really, really sweet. It’s a straightforward honey flavor with a syrupy body.

Bottle. Pours with a blood red hue and no legs. Aroma of honey, grass, and black cherry juice with a tinge of alcohol. Taste has a horrible finish. Not sure what it is, possibly autolysis, but it is unpleasant. Some honey and cherry juice upfront which taste okay. Syrupy mouthfeel.

Bottle from Hall’s in Texas. Clear, golden yellow pour. Some legs. Aroma of butter, bitter, dry herbal notes. Honey, duh. Alcohol, some cinnamon. Peppery. Taste is sweet, and alcoholic, and finishes with a sort of waxy, unpleasant off taste. Autolysis? Slightly metallic. Medium viscosity. Mediocre.

Bottled (thanks Papsoe!). Pale yellow colour, no head. Aroma is honey, sweaty socks and very spicy/herbal. Flavour is honey as well as bittermandel. Alcohol also gives quite a sting. Interesting.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Clear yellow. Intense honey aroma with some flower accents. Full-bodied, sweet honey notes, almonds and flowers. Sweet, straight mead without any refinements, but very drinkable. 240409

Pear, lemon, and honey aroma. Still, golden with a greenish tinge. Perfectly sweet honey and pear flavor. Subdued honey and clover finish. Silky smooth and slides down the throat like sunshine.

Bottle, 75cl, shared by Papsoe. It pours a flat, clear, yellow body. Sweetish, honeyish nose with heather and alcohol. Honeysweet flavor too, but a bit on the heathery side. Warming and almost sticky mouthfeel. Lasting finish with honey and heather. A quite nice one, but maybe a bit intense on the heather honey. (090514)
