Described as "a dark, golden bitter" and as a "pleasure of the older generation". Well, it comes with a filmy head over a dark, amber body. Lightly hopped aroma. Taste of old books with a hoppy touch followed by a smooth and dry bitter ending. An ordinary English bitter, I would say (500ml bottle enjoyed at a hotel room in Oslo, 14.11.2007).

Big offwhite fine-laced lasting head. Faintly hazy brown body. Fruity floral caramel aroma with notes of earth and tea. Dry wooden caramel taste, slightly watery, a bit earthy. Decent, but no more. (0.5l bottle from Centra.)

Big offwhite head quickly collapses. Light amber body. Yeasty aroma of tea and earth with malty notes, slightly floral. Dry earthy tea and malt taste with notes of paper and rye. Dry rye aftertaste with light notes of straw. Not bad. (0.5l bottle from Centra.)

500 ml bottle. Golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma has malt, some caramel and a define hop aroma, a hint of roasted malt as well. Flavor is a bit disappointing considering the rather promising aroma. Malt, a hint of caramel and almost no bitterness. Rather watery body and an short finish. Not to bad, just ordinary and a bit boring.

Bottle. (Branded Drinks) Pours with a golden body, quite clear, and topped by a small off-white head. Quite malty nose, with a little dusty note, and some caramel and fruit. Would like a bit more pronounced aroma though. The flavor starts quite fruity, with a touch of caramel and a vague note of butterscotch. Medium mouthfeel. Fruity finish with caramel. The beer is nothing special, easy to drink, but a bit boring. Rating: 5-3-5-3-11-2.7. (070906)

Bottle. A next-to clear, golden, sparkling beer with a cute, finger-thick, off-white head. Weak nose with malts and some caramel. Fruity hops too. Mostly hoppy and fruity flavor with the malts in the background. Some bitterness towards the finish. Medium body, quite carbonated, smooth and easy to drink. Pleasant, but dead boring. (081108)

500ml bottle. Clear, deep amber body that brings a slightly malty aroma and ditto taste mixed with hoppy softness and bitter fruits towards the finish. Low-level foam. Funny illustration on the label (Oslo, 21.08.2007).
