Sour aroma with hints of cherries. Similar taste. Not what you would.expect from a bock beer, or ’dark wheat beer’.

34cl bottle (6%) from Vinmonopolet Vika. Pours hazy dark brown with a large off-white head. Fruity aroma with strong notes of blackcurrant, reminds me a bit of blackcurrant syrup. Also dark fruits, yeast, malt, licorice, raisins, sour candy and hints of alcohol. Quite strange, but not unpleasant. Moderate sweet with some sour notes and somewhat dry and lightly bitter finish. Medium body with too liveley carbonation. Can’t reconize much of the wheat aromas and it’s certainly a bit strange, but quite drinkable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Camelthorn Bokbeer on 22 Sep 2013 at 22:01 - Score: 6

12.08.2013, 0,34l bottle (6%) @ home:
Big very fizzy mediumlasting head. Aroma is kind of strange and overcarbonated, dark malts, broth, anchovies, salty caramel, dough, toast, dark fruits, dark sugar. Taste is weird sour and neutral, dark malts, sorrel, soda powder, grass. Very overcarbonated. Two sips, then down the drain...

Bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6%. Dark brown colour, enormous off-white head. Strange aroma, weird spices, some brown bread and caramel, The flavour is medium sweet and mildly spicy, some caramel and banana, not your typical weizenbock but nice enough to drink. Minimal bitterness.

Very tart beer with little overt rooibos character.  Not entirely objectionable but not a good balance.

Slightly hazy, dull straw. The aroma is lightly fruity with a fruity, slightly juicy character. A fairly characterful beer, refreshing, lightly yeasty with some good complexity.

Rather dark colour, cloudy and dull tan, with a just a thin head. The aroma is a bit musty/yeasty with just a hint of bananas. Sweet, with some footy yeasty...quite yeasty all told. Short shelf life - gets tart fast.

Plastic bottle shared by Paul. Pours gold with white head. Nose of lemon and sweet malt. Taste of lightly carbonated lemon in water with some hints of sweet malt. Lighter bodied. Surprisingly drinkable. More like a Sprite knockoff than a typical beer.
