Slightly hazy pale with moderate head. Raspberry lemonade, biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Moderately sweet raspberry lemonade, biscuit malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Okay body.

This will be a first for me, an IPA from Shiner. I located a stovepipe can (19.2 oz in case you do not know) at one of the HEB supermarkets in town. The pour into my Great Heights tulip glass shows a clearish gold-orange liquid followed by a lofty head of completely white foam. It has a surely hazy nose about it, there is mangoes, pineapple and a bit of citrus. The taste is decent. Mangoes again, a bit of pine resin, a small honey sweetness and white bread. Nothing earth shaking but a fair enough hazy IPA out of a Texas-centric brewery in the southeast part of the state. The sum is greater than the parts.

Can from the local Grocery Outlet. Pours translucent gold with a transient white head. Aroma of mango and orange. Med body. Juicy and a bit sweet. Not quite enough bitter for balance. Flavor is an odd thing that might be cactus, some herb that might be weed/dank something, melon, citrus and then along comes some strawberry. Flavor kind of growing on me.

Pours slightly hazy yellow gold with no head. Smells like its name. It tastes sweet and fruity, sweeter than I’d like. This is the not bad but underwhelming beer I expected, but I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Oh well.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours orange tinged gold with a decent white head. Aroma is very orange with a hint of coriander. Medium body. Flavor is orange with a bit of zest and a hint of coriander. Not exactly dry, but not exactly sweet. Very lightly bitter. It’s unusual for me, but I like it.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a very large tan head that didn't last long. Aroma of mint and chocolate. Not quite med body. Flavor is mint and chocolate. Malt somewhat like that in a Schwarzbier. Mint is the main thing here, and it does persist. With time it does seem to be suggesting a cookie.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours clear brown with a tan head that did a massive Guinness thing. Aroma of carmel and pecans. Med body or so. Dry it is not. Carmel, pecans, brown sugar ... Hardly any bitterness for balance.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours darkish gold with a transient but voluminous white head. Aroma of caramel with some floral hop. Malty but not very sweet. Enough bitter to balance. The hop seems to be floral. Nice drink.
