Bottle: Poured a murky brown with a huge thick off white head. Aroma is sweet with malt. Taste was not very ESB like, more malty and chocolate. I enjoyed this eitherway.

Big thanks to my sister Lori for sending down a growler of this. My sister ROCKS! Pours copper with gold edges and adequate off white head. The aroma has spicy hops, a thin layer of orange hard candy, earthiness and some malty sweetness. The aroma comes together creating a sense of dirty celery and citrus (?). The taste starts with spicy hops running from flavor to bitter hoppy spiciness. It then begins to pick up earthiness and malt sweetness. By midway notes of sweet orange flavored hard candy are noticed and carries this a bit oddly into the finish. A typical off kilter unusual brew from Dragonmead.

Big thanks to my sister Lori for sending down a growler of this. My sister ROCKS! Pours out amber with gold edges and full tan head. The aroma has malts, chocolate, bacon and a light dash of bandaid. The taste has modest levels of malt and a bit of chocolate here and there. Midway the smoke shows up as the beer thins out creating an earthy – bacony – slightly rubbery bandiad-y mélange of flavor notes. It is a decent enough beer and the smoke certainly doesn’t overwhelm (for most I’m guessing that’s a good thing).

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours with no head and a hazy golden body. Aroma of banana esters, alcohol and caramel. Taste is sweet, with honey, alcohol, and caramels. Kind of bland for a Quad. Light bubbles.

12 oz bottle. Pours orange-tinged gold with a medium, quickly-dissolving white head. Faint aroma of cloves and green apple. Flavors of biscuit and lemon and hints of cloves and bubblegum. Some red apple and honey notes also come out. A decent beer, but nothing more.

Beer #36 of 42 at GTMW, 8-8-09. I wanted to try one of their meads, but all out! So I’ve got this treat instead. It is a dark, weizenbock appearance, a thin but foamy head. Good beer smell, rich in malts. Good bock taste, like dark wheat bread. Very slight bit of estery fruitiness.

On tap at MBG Summer Festival. Poured a cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma was sweet and fruit with wheat and banana notes prevalent. Flavor was sweet with a banana flavor to it. Quite basic.

Tap at the MBG Summer Festival. Poured amber with an off-white head. Aroma was hoppy with fruity and citrus undertones, particularly some orange. Flavor was nicely balanced with a hoppy yet not over powering flavor letting the malts do some work. There was an undertone of sweet oranges, kind of like mandarins.

On tap though it was via pitcher during the MBG Summer Festival. Poured a cloudy reddish gold with a white head. Sweet and citrus notes hit my nose as well as the hope notes. The flavor was actually quiet through the beer with citrus flavors but the pepper flavor fires through at the end. I actually thought this was very well balanced for a "pepper beer" and enjoyed it throughly.

Bottle. Dark brown, hazy body with reddish highlights. Big, fluffy dark ivory head. Malty sweet nose of roast, nuts, bread and caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes with a strange and off-putting sourness and light bitterness. Some fruity tastes with unsweetened black tea in the background. Medium body with a watery texture that turns sticky in the finish. Lively carbonation.
