On draught at the hotel bar in Towson. The beer is a clear pale orange color with a minimal off-white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Mild hops and grainy malt in the nose. Light body with a sweet bready malt character and notes of hops. The finish is short and mildly hoppy with a bit of fruit on the back end. Just average overall.

Rocket Bar, DC tap ($6): Pours a light amber color with a little head. Aroma is bready and slightly malty. At first it tastes all fine and bready with the emphasis on the malts. A little thin in my opinion. No real hop presence. By the end of it, I wasn’t able to properly distinguish it from a pale lager. Still it was pretty drinkable and refreshing enough.

Bottle that I picked up Bremen, Germany and consumed at Landsmeer, campsite, Amsterdam, 29-10-09 Pours copper in colour with a white head, bubbly, busy carbonation. Touch metallic in mouth, its actually quite gassy is this. Soft mouthfeel, but touch thin and watery, maltines and bitterness ok, but its a touch bland and tasteless, lacks body for a 5.5% beer. Draft at the 2009 MD Spring Fest. Tastes Oktoberfesty to me. Filtered orange-tan color. Almost tastes fined. Drinkable and smooth with a quality yeast taste. Well done.

Bottled(330ml). -from Bremen as The Raven.
Orange/aamber coloured, medium sized head. Aroma of malts and hops with some strange and unidentified spice (very close to coriander or some similar root). Just average.

Bottle, German version, courtesy of and shared with ozujsko (thanks!) Poured a lovely ruby red colour with a thick off white head. The nose is odd. Some unidentified spice, cloves and a bit lactic..wheat? nah... can’t be. The taste is weak, some agrumey hops show up and again that unidentified spice... kinda reminds me of Snowfresh, but this is a far inferior beer. Shows some interesting potential and is actually being quite original in a way, but it’s not a very good beer overall.
