Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear dark orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, hops and caramel. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a caramel aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Dark, muddy brown coloured body with a very thin tan oily head. Aroma of alcohol, roasted malt, pit fruits, cherries, raisins, caramel and a hint of nuts. Medium-bodied; Assertive roasted malt at first with a very good sweetness from raisins, pit fruits, plums, cherries, all with noticeable malt and nuts behind. Aftertaste showing a touch of spices with a little alcohol warmth, but definite sweetness to go around. Overall, a nice and relatively complex beer, full of good flavours - a step down from a Barley Wine, and this is a good thing. Definitely worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Pear Delicatessen in Seattle, Washington on 11-February-2013 for US$1.70 sampled at home in [the real] Washington on 26-February-2013.

2012-08-09, bottle from QFC - Seattle (Ballard), 6-4-7-3-12=32
Cloudy light amber color. Light aroma of caramel and sugar. Some caramel flavor, very light residual sweetness, light puke, correct hopping.
Not very Imperial, and without malt or hop fine qualities.
20912-07-29, draught at Lockspot Fish & Chips Bar, Seattle, as Maritime IPA (sic), 6-4-7-4-14=35
Hazy amber color. Mild aroma of toffee. Quite good malt and toffee flavor, lean mouthfeel, with good caramelly hopping, mild hop resins in the end.
Pleasant.

Blond color. It has a quite nice aroma of malt. Also the mouthfeel is good, quite crispy, although it gets a paper and corn character at the end. Good bitterness level.
Good Lager.
