Description
The first written records of the brewery in Protivín date back to 1540. In 1711, it became the property of the Schwarzenberg noble family, where it remained for more than two hundred years. During the Schwarzenberg era, a beautiful brewhouse with copper boilers was built, including an atypical wort pan in the shape of a square, where beer is still brewed to this day. South Bohemian water from its own wells, traditional way of brewing and skills of South Bohemia are for decades the basis of beer brewed here, known under the brand Platan.

In 2008 the brewery became part of the Pivovary Lobkowicz Group.

On tap at Ale House, pours a hazy dull copper golden with a small white head. Aroma is laid back, with crisp crackery malt and a hint of grassiness. Flavour is clean, with crisp crackery malt and light grassy hoppiness. Clean and drinkable but nothing special.

Češko pivo sa 4% alk. Ima karakteristični sladni okus zahvaljujući izvorskoj češkoj vodi i tisućljetnoj recepturi. :-) Samo 4 % alk, ali ništa ne zaostaje za karlovačkom itd...
