Description
The first written records of the brewery in Protivín date back to 1540. In 1711, it became the property of the Schwarzenberg noble family, where it remained for more than two hundred years. During the Schwarzenberg era, a beautiful brewhouse with copper boilers was built, including an atypical wort pan in the shape of a square, where beer is still brewed to this day. South Bohemian water from its own wells, traditional way of brewing and skills of South Bohemia are for decades the basis of beer brewed here, known under the brand Platan.
In 2008 the brewery became part of the Pivovary Lobkowicz Group.

Can, ČP. Clear golden body, white head. Simplistic, oxidized malt-driven lager, both in the aroma and the taste.

A bit of a sweeter ale-like dark beer. Clean, but I would like a bit more crisp. Madcat prague
