Description
Bierbrouwerij De Arn is een initiatief van Arjan te Hoonte. Arjan liep al langere tijd rond met het plan om bier te gaan brouwen. In augustus 2013 werd het eerste bier – een dubbelbok- gebrouwen in de installatie van Sallands Landbier in Raalte.

Begin 2018 gaf de eigenaar van de Zuid-Hollandsche Brouwerij (ZHB), United Dutch Breweries, Bierbrouwerij De Arn toestemming om bieren te brouwen onder de naam van de Zuid-Hollandsche Brouwerij.

Bottle at home, thanks to Maakun. Unclear pale light brown, amber-ish, with no head. Overripe and gone brown bananas, sweet caramel toffee, coriander. Quite sweet and moderate bitter, some dry dirty acorn nuttiness in the not so pretty finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Pretty shit.

Bottle shared. Hazy dull brown with barely any head. Overripe banana, coriander, caramel, quite some bread, light spices, dishwasher water, cloves, alcohol, sweet grapes. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied and low carbonation. A mess.

2017 Edition. Sweet roasted malts, dry leaves, bitter tea, mealy dried fruits, berries, spices, light sour wood chips. Moderate sweet and bitter, with a hint of sour in the finish. About full bodied, soft carbonation.

Bottle enjoyed at home in what is finally becoming a livingroom again. 2017 edition. Pours clear dark brown with fluffy light tan head. Sweet roasted malts, dry leaves, bitter tea, mealy dried fruits, berries, spices, light sour wood chips. Moderate sweet and bitter, with a hint of sour in the finish. About full bodied, soft carbonation.

Bottle sampled at THT December. Clear reddish brown with beige head. Medicinal peat, sweet malts, tannins, dried berries, soft herbs, plastic. Medium sweet, bitter and sour. Over medium bodied. A waste of good whisky.

Bottle shared at THT December ‘18. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of medicinal scotch, oak, caramel. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Xmas THT. Black with RAL9001 head. Sweet roasted malts, plastic, peat, booze, rotting oak. Big sweet and bitter, some smokey meaty umami. Medium body and soft carbonation.

33cl bottle. A slightly hazy dark golden beer with a small most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of sweet banana, yeast and some herbs. Taste of herbal wheat malt, sweet banana and yeast.

33cl bottle. A clear dark golden beer with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of moderate sweet grainy pale malt, straw, some yeast. Taste of grainy pale malt, straw, some wheat and yeast, decent bitterness.
