About
Following the closure of Malton Brewery, the beers range was contracted out to Hambleton and Brown Cow using the name Suddaby's. By 2015 the name had reverted back to Malton and beers were brewed by Great Yorkshire however brewing ceased in 2018 following the sale of the pub.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium amber colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, cardboard - oxidide. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a average to long duration, caramel, oxidide, raisin - plum sweet. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20110619]

Bottled. Reddish amber colour, small beigeish head. Aroma is rather plummy, raisiny and sweet malts. Oxidised slightly. Flavour is sweet malts, some plum as well as mild cardboardy notes.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a good sized white head, malty and ever so slightly hoppy in the aroma stakes. sweet roasted malty flavours with some fruit flavours present and good full body to this tasty ale. Very good beer indeed.

Cask handpull at Red Lion, Isleworth. Dark brown/ruby colour with bubbly beige head. Coffee and cereal aroma. Powdery coffee with touch of liquorice on end and a bit of sourness. Some dark juicy fruits. Bit of dark choc. Damsons/dark cherries on the fruit. Nice

[Cask at GBBF 2004 - labeled under Malton] A dark amber beer with no head. The aroma of peaches and chemicals - hmmm. The flavor is peache combined with diacethyl.

A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet chocolately, but also with notes of vanilla. The flavor is sweet and very roasty, almost burnt, and with a very dry end. Nice.
