Directly opposite the original location of the Inselbrauerei in 1989 the fourth generation, the qualified brewer Martina Feierling and her husband Wolfgang Rombach laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new house brewery. Draught @ the brewpub in Freiburg im Breisgau. Pours hazy dark straw with airy but stable white head. Clear aroma of hops, with notes of yeast and touches of malt. Seeetish flavour of maæt and yeast, with bitterish notes of hops. Estery and malty aftertaste with mild bitter hints. Perfectly balanced andbvery nice for an unfiltered Pilsener.

Von Fass at the brewery’s biergarten. Cloudy golden-orange with a low, thick head. Lemon and oranges in the nose, yeasty biscuts. Sweet and malty flavor, fruity, a touch of dms that seemed somehow to fade. Soft carbonation and a light citrusy tang. Pretty nice and kind of typical unfiltered BW pils. Needed a bit more lagering time, I felt, but they must be rushing for the summer crowds. Still, quite nice.

Moderat süßer, steigend karamellmalziger Antrunk. Sehr geringe Herbe, süffig, die milde Röstigkeit verschwindet hinter der Süße. Etwas unspektakulär. 12/10/9/10//9
