Description
The history of the family brewery goes back to 1877 when master brewer Julius Feierling founded the ''Inselbrauerei'' with a restaurant in the old inn “Zur Insel”, already mentioned in 1460. Due to several reasons in 1981 brewing at the brewery seized.

Directly opposite the original location of the Inselbrauerei in 1989 the fourth generation, the qualified brewer Martina Feierling and her husband Wolfgang Rombach laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new house brewery. In doing so, they resumed the family tradition of brewing beer. They've been brewing organic beer since 1999, with a six-day fermentation and three or four weeks of lagering.

Hopfig herber Antrunk, deutlich getreidig. Die Hopfigkeit sticht auch im Mittelteil hervor, etwa trocken, frisch, vollmundig. Hefig, zum Ende vollmundig und angenehm hopfig bleibend. Gut! 11/12/12/12//12

Draught @the beergarden. Colour cloudy yellow (unfiltered), frothy white head. Aroma bread, resin, basement aromas, banana. Taste light bitter and sour, medium body, thick texture like butter, soft carbonation, abrupt finish, a beer like a meal. In my opinion not your normal pilsener, more in a league of its own...

Draught at the brauhaus
Muddy amber color; compact head. Spicy aroma of wheat, and some malt. Good body structure, also because of quite some residual sweetness; good wheat flavor, with a smoke touch (the rye?), spicy, and light but pleasant fruitiness; light ashes too. Moderate bitterness. The final is a bit peppery, sharp. Drier than the Lager. Quite good, a bit rough, it gets penalized because of the ashy presence.
