Draught at the BrewPub. It pours cloudy near black with a thick dark beige head. The nose is sweet, sticky, treacle, candy and dried fruits. The taste is sweet.... liquorice, toffee, treacle, molasses, raisin, sugar, cola and candy with a pretty sweet finish. Medium-full body, average carbonation and sticky, viscous mouth-feel. Sweetness is pretty damn cloying after a while. Fun to try, but too sweet for my liking.

Draught at the BrewPub. It pours hazy orange with a small white head. the nose is earthy, toast, orange sponge cake, muffin and marmalade. The taste is bitter-sweet, orange peel, bready/sponge cake and tangy marmalade with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Not a whole lot of depth to it, but enjoyable enough.

Draught at the Brewpub. It pours cloudy brown with a small beige head. The nose is earth, toasty, bruised banana, wheat and caramel. The taste is caramel, toffee, wheat, toast, banana, sultana and banoffee pie with a dry, somewhat earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth, rounded and pretty easy-going.

Tap at the brewpub. It pours hazy golden with a medium white head. The nose is fresh, doughy, grass and slightly sweetness. The taste is crisp, doughy, bitter grass, peppery, light sweetness and grain with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth, rounded and well balanced. Very drinkable. A rather nice hells.

Hell würziger Antrunk, dezent alkoholisch. Hell würzig, süffig, ich hätte das Bier malziger erwartet. Zum Ende herber, malziger, wenig würzig. 11/9/9/9//9

Enjoyed on tap at Vetters Brauhaus enjoying my last night in the Baden-Wuttemburg region of Germany, while meeting some traveling Americans en route to Oktoberfest. This stuff was fantastic. I didn’t take tasting notes, but I remember this being a nice bright gold with a moderate white head, with a great smoked malt flavor. Really happy to have had this one during this time of the year!

Purchased at Vetters in Eppingen, DE; enjoyed at my hotel room in Sinsheim, DE. Appearance is a cloudy bright gold with a thin white head. Aroma of lager yeast and a light hay, smell is pretty nice. Taste goes down rather yeasty with a nice light finish. Pretty good stuff.
