Description
Popihn was founded in 2017 by Arnaud Popihn in the French Vaumort region. Supported by head brewer Gunther Oltra, Popihn quickly became the most hyped brewery in France.
Arnaud renovated an old barn and installed brewing tanks: the brand and the workshop were born! He immediately associated with a friend they met in Paris and they decide to embark on the adventure together by making artisanal French beers in the Sens region, in the countryside and with the barley grown by his parents.
It is in this natural break that we find the Popihn brewery workshop, with the very latest brewing equipment. They readily admit to being influenced and inspired by the breweries of the United States and England.
Very aromatic although a little bitter IPAs which give pride of place to exotic fruits (lemon, guava, mango, grapefruit!) And sour drinks that are not very developed in France! This is their hallmark: originality and innovation, but each time with the highest quality! Their daring paid off: they are now key players in these “niche” markets!

Thanks! Sampled draft @ Gollem. Black, massive mocha head. Nose is cacao, big grainy cacao, dark malt, dry almost umami, herbal leaves,… Way too malt. Body is thin, bitter cacao mocha, herbal,… Too thin bitter mocha grainy roast, bitter mocha, too thin grainy malt, cacao, roast, balance is way off, body the same,… Lingering almost ashes, not a fan.

Pours semi unclear blonde/yellow. Big white head. Smell is intense mango, creamy hoppyness underneath. Kinda clashes to q creamy like candyness that isnt off, but not overly enjoyable either. Anyway, its only qt the very first part of the aroma, fades instantly qnd leaves fruits and hops. Mild grassy tones. Taste is semi creamy, very floral, green , fruity hops and of course mango. Yeqstyness seems good for the style, very creamy and not too much esthers or phenols. Medium bitterness. Doesnt completely work for me in general though

Draft glass @ Gollem. Orange, huge white head. Nose is mango peel both actual peel & mango peel hop profile. Taste is too bitter for what it should be & sadly tastes a bit too much like mango soap, grass, too harsh & too mango soap, body is doughy hazy mango soap. Not terrible but bit disappointing.
