Very deep golden color. Frothy white head. The nose is intense and amazing. Brimming with hops it show apple crumble, pine, peach citrus, with a good wallop of caramel. Everything is very pronounced. The mouth is perfectly balance, not cloying at all for 11%, massively aggressively bitter, but the malt character never dominates. The ABV does show up in the end with a big warm finish. Still much drier than I could have imagined. I thought it would be bitter, but this is absolutely one of the most bitter beers Ive had. Despite its extremes, its extremely quaffable. This is nothing short of a masterpiece. I am having a 500ml can to myself and was reluctant to do so because of the ABV, but happy I am not sharing this baby. Top notch all the way.

Port Brewing 15th AnniversaryTriple IPA 11th Photo taken earlier today... I drank it from my Spigrlau IPA glass. Clear deep copper gold with a thick off white topping of foam end big bold hop bouquet that highlights citrus, stone fruit ms and some dank elements. Quite natural in a double or triple IPA. Full bodied with a scratchy carbonation. A bit of heat but this is mostly just hops hops and more hops with a bit of a slick and sweet mouthfeel. Really full on but good example of the style.

Can from Tidens Farver @ Home. Pours black with small brown head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, caramel, coffee, vanilla, chocolate. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, nice coffee, coffee beans, chocolate, vanilla, alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, sweet light bitter finish with warming alcohol. 140821

Admin: Not a BA edition at 6.2%. Can. Reads Port Brewing: Coffee porter. Pours black with a small creamy beige settling head and lacings. Coffee, roast, ashes and a whiff of fruit. Smooth and medium bodied. Dry roasted finish. Classic.

Tasting at Phill's, can
Dark amber colour, medium sized head. Moderately sweet, it doesn't have the malt depth of the best Barley Wines, more hopping than an English Barley Wine, maybe not the levels of an American one, but there is some disturbing pithy bitterness making up for it (sarcasm).
Not very interesting, just booze.

Poured from 19.2 fl oz can. Cloudy amber with minimal beige head and a touch of sediment. Caramel malt and resinous hops.

Auburn-brown colour, medium head. Dates and raisin, light esters, chill sweet malt. Good balance, subtle, it’s got English character and American strength, which is a really compelling combination for me.

A proper English pint @ Phill's. Appearance: hazy copper with a beige head. Aroma: caramel, some light hops and sweet fruity character. Taste: along the same lines, quite hoppy. Overall: these guys probably don't know what English Barleywine is, so just brewed an American one and called it an English one.
