Draught Served in Stein , good head, not stable. Earthy notes, good bit of malt, wet dog. Earthy, malty and a truckload of good German hops. Just unbelievable great - BEERtaste. Light but nowhere watery, exactly right for drinking from a Maß. Long bitterish-hoppy aftertaste. A SUPERB Kellerbier - beer at its best, outstanding. Drinking this in the great company of Joss, Beerboy and my wife under a sunny sky no doubt helps me admiring it, but the fact remains that this is the first beer that I’ve ever bought a keg of - in my entire life.

Draught Clear chestnut brown; very huge built-up creamy head. Woody and smoked, treebranches covered with moss, oak/beechwood, mildly smoked ham aromas. Mild smoked, very malty, and - is it the colour suggesting? - chestnut flour with a bitterish finish. Very good, mild Rauchbier. Medium bodied, oily film in the mouth. Another excellent Rauchbier, in the style of the Rauchzart from Barnikel.

Shared a bottle with jerohen. Aroma is nicely smoked, but it’s just too flat in taste. It tastes like a pilsener with smoked taste, but not in balance. --- Beer merged from original tick of Räucherla Märzen on 14 Aug 2019 at 14:55 - Score: 7. Cloudy golden color, big head. Aroma of yeast and wheat, bit dry, some banana. Taste is quite sweet, bit milky indeed. Nothing special about this one.

Bottle (bought at Vroni’s, Bamberg, Franconia) Deep golden colour, thin but lasting white head; quite alcoholic nose with a tinge of maltiness; sweet malty beginning, thin malty flavour, ending quickly dryer an bitter; only medium bodied and not very well rounded, kind of unharmonic with too dominant alcohol. Disappointing !

An amber beer with a small disappearing beige head. Both the aroma and the flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and hops the flavor also has notes of coriander, before a good dry hoppy end sets in. But the body is thin. Thanks to Jez (Rauchbier) for this one.

Dark brown. Nice smoke aroma. Full smoke character. Good toasty, breadcrusty malt background. Nice balanced...yum.

Gravity, barrel. Ceramic mug. Thick head. Herbal, hay-like hop aroma. Great character - loads of fresh, juicy hop with light bread crust accents. Very tasty.
