bottle - Pours deep amber with a big, fluffy white, long-lasting head. The aroma is mainly of sweet malt with a touch of fruit. The flavor is sweet malt and dark fruit in a nice combination. How they managed to make a big beer come out watery, I don’t know, but unfortunately they did. That’s the main drawback here. Otherwise it’s pretty tasty.

Bottle: Amber pour with a modest sandy head. More malt comes through than hops. Sweet, yet not any real citrus or fruitiness. Mostly a bit of malt with light florals and caramel malt.

Bottle from Whole Foods in Sacramento, CA. Brilliant reddish copper color with minimal white head. Aromas of roasted malt and florality. Near medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is a balance of lightly roasted malt and floral hop. Not all that bitter. Kind of like an ESB. Drinks pretty well.

Bottle. Dark mahogany color with a fizzy tan head that didn’t last long. Aroma of mild dark fruit and roasted caramel. Biting, fizzy carbonation. Body starts medium but thins. Flavor is mostly darkly roasted caramel, but there seems to be lighter fruit notes as well. Finishes surprisingly dry. It’s not dry, dry, but it sure is not sticky. Leaves an impression of soil in the mouth - not necessarily a bad thing. The heat was not really noticeable until it was pretty well down the gullet. Certainly easy to quaff. Danger, Will Robinson.

Sweet malt and corn in the nose. Light-bodied and sweet with grainy malt and mild hops flavors. The finish is mildly hoppy with a touch of pepper and spice aftertaste. A below average Pils overall.
