Easy drinking, but a bit oxidised

Can. Polluted sunset orange with a small white head. Sharp enough grapefruit aroma that I checked the ingredients. Some tropical fruit and crackers too. Light bodied. Almost sour citrus with tropical fruit behind before a finish that's modestly bitter and slightly astringent. Cheerfully refreshing.

Sweet rich toffee nose, slightly thin perhaps. Boozy. Rich strewed fruits.

Seriously piney.dank caramel malt. Chewy

From a 440ml can on 28/9/2023. Pours a slightly hazy amber with virtually no head. Has a pleasant nose featuring Belgian yeast, and dark and dried fruit. The falvour follows suit, but adding some Christmas cake and raisiny goodness. Medium bodied with a slightly syrupy mouthfeel, and moderate carbonation. An very pleasant and easy drinking strong dark Belgian.

From a 440ml can on 13/9/2023. Pours a clear deep golden with a small to medium head. The nose is hoppy with notes of pine and resin. Starts with some biscuit and a touch of caramel malt with some citrus and a hint of tropical fruit in the middle. Finishes with a firmish pine resin bitterness. Chewy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Clean, focused and tasty. A very nice little old school IPA.

Can. Black with a good coat of tan head that laces a little before departing. Rich, brooding aroma of mocha, whisky, light spices. Full bodied but just short of syrupy. Lowish carbonation. Sweet with lots of dark chocolate, whisky, roasted malt, coffee. Bitterness and quite a lot of oak tame things at the end - and you wonder whether that's going to be too much or not enough. In the end it nags a little but needs it. There's a nice toastiness to the finish. Good, but I might have liked it better at 2/3rds the ABV.

From a 440ml can on 5/9/2023. The first Behemoth (as opposed to Chur) labelled beer I've found in Australia. Pours a hazy deep golden with a smallish head. The nose is a touch and green and herbal with grape and melon notes. Curiously, it tastes quite citrussy, with tangerine and mandarin quite prominent, with a green/herbal medium bitter finish. Has a silky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Unusual and quite interesting, but doesn't quite work for me.

Tall can from Winerack at home. Dark cola brown pour with light light tan head. Aroma is root beer, dark chocolate, roasted almost burnt grain. Taste is dark and chocolate with dark fruit, some metallic tang. Palate is rather light for 9%, but that’s not bad. Finish is slightly tart and metallic. Not bad but not great.

Can, bb 12/23. Golden amber with a cm of white head. Shyish aroma of kumquat, crusty bread, some pine. Citrus is perhaps a little more on the grapefruit side in the taste. Just a little vacant in the middle with a moderately bitter finish. Pretty good if a little restrained.
