Bottled (from fonefan, I think). My German rating #900. Ambery golden colour with small slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some slight caramel, bread as well as mild alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is quite much the same with rather herbal/spicy notes as well. Mild bitterness in the finish. Quite easy-to-drink doppelbock. Wellbalanced, but nothing extraordinary.

Bottle 33cl.Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, old malt, bread notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, and a peppery finish. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery - sticky, carbonation is soft. [20090321]

Bottle, 7.0%. 1 month past BB date. Dark brown colour, small floaties. The flavour is OK malty, has a little breadiness and vinousness. Rough bitterness, but not so high.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange to hazzlenut brown with a small tan head. Roasted malty and slight nutty aroma. Light roasted and overripe fruity malt flavoured with a light bitterness showing through. Ends mild spiced, hoppy and lingering sweet roasted caramel malty.

Bottle: Pale golden to golden, mid-sized, slowly diminishing and lacy white head; distinctive aromatic herbal-hoppy, a bit piney nose with a distinctive sweet pale-malty background; solid dry bitter flavour, light bodied; lingering herbal-piney-hoppy finish. Bottle: A bit unclear, lively carbonation, firm white fluffy off-white head? distinctive sourish-fruity (lemons) nose with a good dash of wheat, accompanied by delicate phenolic traces; medium bodied, quite smooth MF, moderate sourish flavour; sourish-yeasty finish. O.K., sourish and refreshing...........

Bottle: Literally golden with a bigger, quickly diminishing fluffy head; moderate sweet-grainy to malty nose, a bit buttery with some hoppy edges; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, solid malty base detectable; shorter pale-malty and lingering hoppy finish. Pretty good, a kind of "Bohemian Märzen"......

Bottle: Pale chestnut-amber coloured, mid-sized off-white head, lacing and slowly collapsing; sweet dark-malty nose with a tinge of fruity molasses and hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour; light (!) bodied; distinctive hops in the malty-caramelly finish with a lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Not a bad Doppelbock, very light and easy to drink........

Bottle: Amber coloured, smaller, lacy off-white head; dry malty nose with a light strawy touch; dryish bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; dryish - as well - malty-bitter finish with a tinge of cacao. Not bad.........
