Bottle sample at a Leo Cell's tasting at Porter & Sons. 2017 bottle. Brown. Vinegar, malt red fruits, caramel, a bit of oxidation, sourish-sweetish.

Couleur est boueuse, pas franchement agréable au visuel, col fin blanc.
Arôme abricots, effet vieille levure, avec une date clairement passée.
Palais sur un côté purée de fruits, abricots fermentés, vieille bière, cave et cellier, carton mouillé avec une petite pointe de funk de l'abricot qui revient en retrait, un peu sec en fin de bouche avec une pointe de douceur fruitée.

Eingetrübte goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Fruchtiger, floral hopfiger, leicht malziger Geruch. Geschmacklich floral hopfig, leicht malzig, fruchtig. Mittlere Süße mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is nice white funk, some exotic fruits, oak, lieblich-like, not too earthy, very tempting. Taste is lieblich white wine, woody, not too dry, beautiful balance. Oily mouthfeel, natural carbonation. Very nice!

330 ml can, bb 02.02.2023. Amber, clear body, with a big fluffy, lacing, off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, earth, some pine, biscuit. Tastes similar. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes bitter, zesty, earthy, piney, citric, with tropical fruits, and biscuit. Really nice. As the name suggests, a straight, old-school Pale Ale, well balanced and quaffable. Quite full bodied, I would prefer it a bit more crisp. Score: 7 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 14
