Description
We are an East Vancouver craft brewery inspired by tradition and creativity, and go beyond the ordinary to celebrate that which is strange* and extraordinary. The beer we make is influenced both by old world traditions and West coast ingenuity as well as by seasonal ingredients. Our barrel programme promises unique aged beers, and we have a bit of a thing for sour beer.

Murky blond color. Light and fresh beer, tastes like a North American Witbier, hence some wheat, some yeast, lightly spicy, fairly dry, possibly a bit lemony, but lacking of character in general.
Not sure what beer they were targeting for. This is one more simple beer.

I liked this one. The bitterness is prominent, and there is nice spicing. The pale malts provide good support. Very refreshing, tasty white IPA.

Very cloudy, pretty funky, footy yeast nose. Tart and a bit funky, with a light fruity-hopping finish. Not 100% clean and since everyone has a grisette this spring it’s worth knowing that it’s not the best.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a cloudy opaque yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out light farmhouse notes and lots of dirty yeast. Flavour confirms this - loads of filthy yeast upfront, with a slight fruitiness. None of that subtle funky crispness that the better grisettes have. Not too bad but certainly needs refinement.

Draft - Sweet malts and yeasty notes. Clear gold with almost no head. Sweet Apple, Belgian yeasts and a long finish.

Draft - Light soured wheat. Pale yellow with a decent white head. Some citrus and banana with a light grapefruit finish. Too much dirty yeasts.

Draft - Lots of nice citrus with some estery Belgian yeast. Hazy light gold with a rich white head. Lots of citrus peel and Belgian yeast. Bright refreshing, lots of orange and lemon, nice.

Cloudy blond color with frothy small head. The aroma is citrusy and spicy, according to plan, but it also has plenty of other mellow ripe fruits (7.5). The mouthfeel is rather dry buy smooth; the spicy character of this beer is prominent, but on a second level there is enough fruits (plums and other stone fruits); also a tiny trace of butter that doesn’t disturb; correct bitterness, with also some hop resins in the final. Balanced and fresh beer. Very nice.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of coriander and lots of bittering hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with loads of spicy coriander and loads of astringent piney hops on the finish. Very bitter and quite spicy. Not a work of balance, but I dig the abrasiveness of this. Nothing special, but solid.

Pink-purple and cloudy. Light raspberry character and a dash of acidity with a little malty sweetness.
