Tap at Watering Hole for the Y. Market tap-takeover event. Clear copper with a one-finger off-white head. Big ruby red grapefruit aromas with some sweet caramel and orange marmalade on the nose. Average carbonation with a sticky medium to medium-full body. Great bitter, finish with lots of malt that lingers. Perfectly balanced body with active carbonation. Lots of juicy citrus and tropical fruit. Mosaic is there, but I prefer the original. Tap at Watering Hole for the Y. Market tap-takeover event. Pours a clear, dark gold with a small off-white head. Big aromas of orange, pineapple, mango, pine resin and dankiness. Some light booze on the nose as well. Medium to soft carbonation with an oily, meidum body. Lots of juicy fruit on the palate with a bitter finish, but not overbearing. Deep red-brown, cloudy, with a low, thick head. Nose is caramel, raisins, Sorachi Ace, some chocolate, wood. Big Sorachi flavor, caramel, fruits, nicely chocolatey, dry finish. Interesting but a bit weird and that’s the Sorachi Ace. (2015 Fall version was much nice, without the overbearing nature of the Sorachi. Don’t know if the recipe was changed or not).

Tap at Bungalow. Deep orange, cloudy, glowing. Fruity nose, oranges, peaches, melon. Big, juicy fruit flavor, creamy. Very bitter though, really too bitter with a long-lasting astringency that I did not like at all. Full body is good. Good except for the bitterness.

On tap at Bungalow, researching it I discovered it may have been brewed for the Watering Hole’s 10th Anniversary. Y market capercaillie APA IBU 23.4 5.5% A lightly opaque honey gold with a piney dank hop bouquet. Raspy carbonation on a med-light body. The taste is bitter piney hops, light spiciness and a bit woodsy. Another solid beer tonight.
