Tap at the Gifu Beer Matsuri 2015. Brown-orange color, cloudy. Meaty malt nose, bread, caramel, chocolate, cherries. Dirty, grass hop flavor, peppery, earthy finish. Good alt.

Tap at the Gifu Beer Matsuri 2015. Lovely, shiny golden color, cloudy. Nose of white grapes and citrus, comes off a bit like Nelson Sauvin, crackery malt. Dry, fruity flavor, crisp, grape and citrus, crackers. Excellent use of the grapes for a dry, fruity beer.

Tap at the Gifu Beer Matsuri 2015. Nose of lemon, grapefruit, biscuits, a bit of diacetyl. Sweet and biscuity flavor, citrus but too much diacetyl. Still not really ready I think. Golden color, clear. Good recipe, they just need to get the contract system sorted out.

Re-rate: Tap at Craft Heads Y. Market Tap-Takeover. Same coffee and cacao nib notes on the nose along with some dark fruit. The dryness is still there but pleasant. The yeast really works well and the pepper plays nicely against the sweetness. Dry cocoa-forward finish that lingers. Solid. 8.8% ABV version on tap at Watering Hole. Big roasted malt and espresso nose with some dark chocolate with some dark fruit. Taste is very Belgian. The yeast is there. Very dry mouthfeel almost a little chalky. Roasty and bitter finish. Not bad, but again a slight slip for Y Market. --- Beer merged from original tick of Trinity Black on 04 Sep 2015 at 19:26 - Score: 7

Bottle @ Drink Rich’s American beer, thanks to KansaiBeerLvrs.

Tap at Watering Hole. Dark brown with a modest soapy light tan head. Aromas of mango and roasted malt..some coffee on the nose as well. Taste is fairly similar with the roasted flavors standing out. Nice medium bitter finish. Nothing fancy, but enjoyed it. --- Beer merged from original tick of Brocade St. Black IPA on 14 Aug 2015 at 17:45 - Score: 6

Draft at CBM Koenji. Copper color with a two finger off-white head that lingers throughout. Malt-forward aromas: toffee, caramel and biscuit with some light apricot and prune notes. Taste is quite malt forward but well-balanced. There is a bit of hop noticeable on the finish which makes it a little more interesting, but this is not really up to the usual Y Market standard. A little boring. --- Beer merged from original tick of Tasogare Summer Ale on 27 Jul 2015 at 21:49 - Score: 6
