Tap at the brewery. Pours nice golden, good head and beautiful lacings. Aroma is very citric, dry, resins and pine needles. Some fruity sweet notes too. Taste is very similar as aroma. Dry hoppiness, resins, no sweetness though, highly drinkable. This is how I want my IPA to taste.

Tap at the brewery. Pours dark chocolate brown, small or almost no head. Aroma is quite roasty, bit of sweetness, burnt rye bread. Taste is full of charcoal, bitter chocolate and cocoa nibs. Dry stuff, some sweetness still there. Really nice, liking it a lot. Nice lingering hoppy dryness at the end.

Tap at the brewery. Pours reddish brown, nice foam comes down fast. Aroma is rather malty actually. Has some autumn harvest hop feel and some frost-bitten rowans. Quite dry, no residual sweetness. Lots of tannins drying your mouth. Still sessionable, good stuff.

Tap at the brewery. Pours nice reddish orange, just a bit of foam, maybe slightly too cold. Aroma has citrus, a bit of malts shining through. Taste is fruity, sour, feels like hibiscus. Nice very refreshing brew, would be perfect for summer. Light bodied but that’s OK.

Had two samples side by side at Yellow Ape: Y market mosaic version of their Purple Sky Pale Ale 5.6% had a great hoppy tropical fruit nose that was rich and inviting while North Island Hop Tea Galaxy version 4.5% had a woody pine and dank nose with light fruits. Both were beautiful gold pours with foamy white heads. The flavor for the Y Market mosaic was a hit of tropical fruits then a piney woodsy hop bite. While the North Island Galaxy was the opposite with a dank bitter woodsy bit then switched to sweet. I think I preferred the Y Market’s sweet tropical fruitiness but I ordered the North Island due to its crisp light body, full flavor & lower ABV.

Tap at Komachi. Glowing gold, hazy to cloudy, low fine head. Lots of carbonation. Big hop nose, dank citrus, grass, mango, durian. A bit stinky. Sweet, biscuity malts and the same flavors from the Mosaic hops. Quite bitter in the finish. A bit too fizzy and highly-carbonated. Very tasty, especially as it warmed a bit. A good showcase for these hops, though I liked the regular version with Citra a bit better.

On tap at Watering Hole. Cloudy golden color. Great floral hops with pine needle, citrus, passion fruit standing out on the nose. Bitter and slightly sour on the palate. Big hop flavors stand out, but not overly bitter. Nice dry and crisp fruit forward finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hop Carnival Session IPA on 07 May 2015 at 19:37 - Score: 7

Pours nice golden, bit of foam, feels too clear for saison. Aroma has fresh hops and freshly cut grass. Soft wheat. Taste is nicely fulfilling and saisony, a lot hoppier though than your usual saison. Highly enjoyable, fresh.

Hazy, bit of foam, pale straw. Fresh hoppy character in the nose. Taste is also fresh and hoppy, feels more like an IPA than a lager. Super nice though, some lager bitterness still there. Snappy. Enjoying this a lot, need to visit their place in Nagoya.

Lovely cloudy orange-gold with a head of soapy foam. Hoppy nose featuring apricot, citrus & woodsy pine. Soft bodied with a sharp carbonation. The taste gives you a touch of wheat And a big hop whallop. Bitter but nice & refreshing.
