Tap at Komachi. Very cloudy orange-brown color with a fine, thick head. Nose of caramel, grass, minerals, nice malt but dryish. Rich, bready malt flavor, some caramel, not too sweet, with good bitterness. Rather authentic alt, on the full side. Good.

Tap at Tadg’s. Murky black with a low head. Nose is rather intense cocoa and chocolate, a bit of coffee. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, not much hop presence at all. A bit thin in the body as well. An average porter. The new version of the Gate 7 is much better.

Tap at 1020. Very juicy fruit nose, a bit of grass. Biscuity, rich flavor, sweet and great fruit. Grapefruit and melon. Nicely bitter. A very interesting hoppy fruitiness.

Tap at Komachi. Rich and malty nose, noble hops, some bread. Just right. Hazy, deep gold, lovely. great malt flavor, tasty but light and crisp. Great peppery hops with very solid bitterness. Excellent. A lovely pils with the right kind of hopping for the style. Could drink it all day.

dark Amber color. Fairly malty nose with dried fruit. Full body, lots of earthy notes with dried strawberries. Fairly hoppy but huge malty backbone. Lingering dried fruit and medicinal finish. Interesting, but not sure how

On tap at Molto as Y Market Deep Hop Lager, 6.8% a clear deep gold with a solid creamy looking head of foam. Bready malts & fruity hops in the nose make for an enticing beer. A nice light body with a satisfying mouthfeel. The taste is chewy light malts, a bit of earthy pine, some lemon and a crisp green bitter finish. A refreshingly hoppy lager.

Wheat Wing Session IPA 4.6% on tap at Beer Komachi is a semi-cloudy light honey gold. A fruity mildly floral hop bouquet with a bit of that earthy pine edge the Devil Weiss had. Thin bodied with some wheaty smoothness in the mouthfeel. The taste has an earthy pine bitterness with some lemony citrus accents. Pretty good.

Devil Weiss 4.5% pours a cloudy straw gold with a pillowy white head and a wheaty & hoppy nose. The taste is earthy, pine bark/cones, citrus and even some nuttiness. It’s got a hint of cloves and some wheat in the finish. an interesting beer. Think a hoppy wheat beer. Once it warms up you can more clearly see it is a hopped up weizen with tangy fruit & spice notes coming through along with the hops. I was surprised to learn it is just 8 IBU(!).

2 pints at Tadg’s. Grassy hops and bready malts in the nose. Cloudy golden color. Bit of sweet biscuit malt at the start, goes to a huge hop rush, grass, pepper, hay, and a huge long lasting bitterness. Crisp and effervescent. Clean lager finish. Excellent stuff.
