Kuninocho Strawberry Ale 4.9% Peach orange brown in color with a slightly medicinal strawberry aroma. Medium bodied with a round carbonation. The taste is jammy strawberry but cleaner than the sip of Kinjou gold I got. Pretty good.

Tap @ BeerFes Yokohama, September 17th, 2017. Pours nice hazy whitish yellow. Nose has light yeast spices and fruitiness. Bit stuffy, so citrus is somewhat hidden. Taste is light and fruity, not that citric but some medium sweetness and yeast spices. Dry light bitterness continues until the end. Not bad but well not that great either.

As Kuni no Cho Raisin White on tap at Takumiya, a milky gold color with a fruity aroma of waxy grape skins. The malts give soda bread and some cardboard but then you get a tangy wine like raisin and coriander. It’s ok, actually it grew on me quite a bit.

Tap at Bakuon 16. Cloudy pale gold with lace. interesting grape nose, tart, fruity, a bit funky and dry. Sweet grape and raisin coming in first, then drying out and turning a bit dusty in a dry, Belgian like way. Fun beer, and surprisingly well done.

Tap at Takumiya. Deep orange-amber, hazy, with lace. Faint nose, a bit spicy. Flavor of caramel, stone fruit, raisins, prune, a bit weird. Earthy, with ok bitterness, but a bit watery and unimpressive overall.

On tap at Craft Beer Live 2016. I tried to have this at Kyoto’s Beer Fest so let’s see if I do better at Craft Beer live 2016 - yep, not sold out. Opaque gold with a nice filmy white head. The aroma is spicy coriander, wheat and citrus zest orange/lemon. Quite nice.

Bottle from Yamaya. Cloudy amber-orange, low head. Nose is faint, caramel malts and some stone fruits. Flavor is medium sweet, caramel, peach and melon, bit of mineral and grassy hop in the finish. Light and oily, thin body. Not very impressive, though drinkable.
